Safesil saves money and protects your silage
Your silage is the most valuable feed you have. At the same time silage is the hardest feed to produce and store. By using Safesil you will improve both the feed value and the hygienic quality.
The benefits of Safesil
Our tests show that if you use Safesil you will get better silage, reduced DM loss, decreased amount of discarded feed and an increased consumption due to increased palatability. A feed of good hygienic quality also increases the chances for better milk quality due to lower somatic cell counts.
Safesil is developed in Sweden
Safesil has been developed in close cooperation with SLU, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. The aim has been to develop an efficient silage additive based upon well known and tested preservatives that is safe and easy to use.
The active ingredients are food additives, effective against bacteria, fungi and mould: Potassium sorbate (E202), which naturally occurs in many fruits and berries (e. g. rowan berries), Sodium benzoate (E211), which naturally occurs in fruits such as apples and berries (e. g. black berries), and Sodium nitrite (E250), which transforms into gas and is especially effective against undesirable bacteria such as enterococci and clostridia.
Safesil can be used in any type of storage system.
